Judith learnt a new skill at Yorkshire Building Society’s (YBS) head office as part of National Inclusion Week.
The session at Yorkshire House saw members of Bradford Deaf Community Association give Judith and YBS staff a taster course of British Sign Language.
Judith said: “It’s good to see local businesses like Yorkshire Building Society focusing on diversity and inclusion. I was delighted to try sign language and learn more about the work of Bradford Deaf Community Association.”
The Society ran different activities throughout National Inclusion Week including transgender awareness sessions and a visit by Yorkshire Paralympian, Karen Darke MBE.
Nicola Hosty, Diversity and Inclusion manager at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We have had an amazing response to our National Inclusion Week events. It was great to see so many of our colleagues attend the different sessions and get involved in the activities.”
Earlier this year Yorkshire Building Society won the UK’s Most Improved Organisation of the Year 2018 and UK Financial Services Company of the Year in the National Centre for Diversity Grand Awards 2018.
