Judith was recently elected as the new Chair of the Parliamentary Rugby League Group. The Group’s ambitious mission is to promote the sport’s successes, improve its profile amongst Parliamentarians and raise issues affecting the sport both locally and nationally.
In one of her first duties as Chair, Judith laid a wreath at a Cenotaph commemoration to honour those from the Rugby League’ family who served their country and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Judith was joined at the Cenotaph by serving members of the Armed Forces, the Royal British Legion, and Challenge Cup Finalists Wigan Warriors and Hull FC.
Speaking about the commemoration Mrs Cummins said “it was a great honour to represent the Parliamentary Rugby League Group, and remember all those involved in rugby league who have done so much for their country. In laying a wreath, we recognise and reflect on their profound courage, and show our gratitude for their sacrifice.”
“The rugby league family does not forget those who have served, and this commemoration was a fitting tribute. It was also an opportunity to demonstrate that all those in active service today are in our thoughts, and pay tribute to them.”
